Our music may not be publicly copied or re-recorded for any purpose without a license from MFP. Failure to obtain the license is a violation of Federal Copyright Laws. MFP Library warrants that it has the right to grant this synchronization license which is given and accepted upon payment thereof without any other warranty or recourse. MFP Library reserves all rights not granted herein. Our total liability is limited to the applicable fee paid.
All music compositions and recordings in the MFP Production Music Catalog are protected by the CANADA Copyright Law. Written permission (license) for any use must be obtained from MFP. Unauthorized use in any form constitutes a violation of the Copyright Law, which provides for certain penalties.
LICENSING
A valid license with MFP grants you the right to both the recording (master) and the composition (musical copyright) more commonly referred to as the synchronization right. Synchronization is the right to affix music with visual images or other audio signals and to mechanically reproduce the copyrighted music in soundtracks and copies of soundtracks.
Payment for a synchronization license need be made only once. However, additional synchronization licensing becomes necessary if the original production is changed, revised or dubbed in foreign languages.

Payments Due: Invoices are payable by the LICENSEE upon their delivery via email. After 30 days, outstanding from the date shown on the invoice, the LICENSEE may be subject to a penalty fee. The LICENSEE may dispute the invoice during that 30 day term only, if the invoice goes undisputed within the 30 day term, the invoice will be considered unpaid, outstanding, irrevocable and is subject to additional penalty fees for late payment.
LICENSEE agrees that it shall not make any copies of the COMPOSITIONS other than for LICENSEE's use as permitted by this Agreement. LICENSEE shall not sell, lease, lend, give, physically convey, or otherwise transfer the COMPOSITIONS to any person, firm, corporation or other entity without MUSIC FOR PRODUCTIONS’ prior written consent. In the event that any content licensed in this agreement is found to be used by a third party, the registered client will be held responsible for the any charges associated with that usage and will be invoiced accordingly.
In the event that music from the MFP catalog is being used or has been used without permission, MFP will hereby have the right to retroactively bill the party responsible for having inappropriately used such music. In this instance, the rate for which that party will be charged will be left completely to the sole discretion of MFP and applied accordingly.
Performing rights licenses are usually the responsibility of the user. In the case of broadcast, (radio, TV, cable, satellite, etc.) it is the responsibility of the broadcaster. Virtually, all broadcasters have negotiated licenses for these rights with major performing rights organization in Canada, SOCAN in the United States, ASCAP and/or BMI, SESAC. Outside these countries, a license must be obtained from the authorized mechanical rights society in your territory or from the agent for MFP.
LICENSING NOTES
- The compositions and master recordings that comprise the MFP website may not be publicly performed, copied or recorded for any purpose without the prior written permission of MFP.
- Broadcast or public performance requires license from Performing Rights Society.
- For live use of CD without synchronization, $100 per title to a maximum of $1000 per event
- 50% discount applicable to one time event.
- Applications for a synchronization license must be made by phone, mail, fax or online immediately following the completion of a production and prior to any exhibition or broadcast. Delay in requesting music clearance could result in a higher license fee being charged.
- Rates include music publishing rights and master recording rights
- Rates are for each 30 seconds used (or a portion thereof excluding taxes)
- Any revision to visual or narrative (except tag line), other language versions, short edits etc. require separate licenses
- When applying for multiple clearance categories for the same production, a discount may be applied to all but the initial (highest rate) clearance category.
- Multiple versions of the same commercial or promo i.e. "tags" require special clearance.
- Rates are subject to change without notice.
- Volume discounts, Combination Rates and Per-Episode Deals quoted upon request.
